The 50/2.8 Tessar, carried from the very first days of the M42 production all the way to the end, was one of the Classic standrd lens. This lens had numerous different variations and was manufactured in Manual / semi-auto / auto diaphram, and was mounted in un-coated all the way to multi-coated versions. The Optical formulae was never changed. To this day its stioll considered a quality all rounder in the slower/medium speed standard category.
