 AMEX TC (Travelers Cheque) Disaster

If you want to go abroad, especially UK, don’t exchange your cash to AMEX TC(GBP: ₤). TCs are useful several years ago however nowadays there are some better way than TC. If you use a debit card issued in your country, you would just pay less than 1.5% charges per total amount you used but if you exchange your TCs to cash at foreign exchange booth, you might pay around 3% charge per total amount you exchanged.

 Sometimes, if you have your account at a bank in UK, you could deposit your TCs without extra charge but it’s not easy to open your account in UK. If you want to do, you must prove some information by official document. (Look photo) In my mind, it is nonsense. If international student open their account, they transfer money from their country and the bank can make a profit.

 Nowadays global villages are getting bigger along with great competition among many companies. If a company wants to survive from the international competition, they should be more open-minded and flexible.
